In 1985 Ken Medema launched Brier Patch Music. It's a small independent recording, publishing, and performance-booking company. It's named after Brier Rabbit's home in the famous Uncle Remus stories.
Though blind from birth, Ken has demonstrated his extraordinary musical vision to a growing number of loyal fans across the nation and around the world. Invariably, his audiences reward Ken's final encore with enthusiastic applause and standing ovations.
“The arrangements are tasty and the listening is delightful. Barbara's lovely, comforting voice is a calming and soothing listening experience.”
Praise ye the Lord.
Sing unto the Lord a new song, ...
In the Rain
The album is the product of a sabbatical experience made possible by the Lilly Foundation. The theme of the grant was "the time for singing has come" and offered Pastor Barbara the opportunity to work once again with Ken Medema as well as Beverly and Dave Vander Molen and to renew the song in her heart.
This album is filled with songs of grace and hope, songs about God's love that is like the rain, showering us with grace and most especially, love.
How Can I Keep From Singing?
This album features hymns, spiritual songs and three songs by the producer and arranger of the album, Ken Medema. These selections are songs that reflect Barbara's understanding of God and are expressions of her faith.
